History of the Syntec index, a tool for measuring labor costs

Syntec Index measures the evolution of labor costs, primarily of an intellectual nature, on services provided. It is used to update and revise the financial clauses of contracts or markets according to a formula indicated in the contract.

The index reflects the evolution of labor costs, particularly in contracts whose invoicing may be based on units of work, maintenance of software packages, applications, or even computer systems.

The Syntec Index is a monthly index recognized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance since March 11, 1974. The first value of the reference index was index 100 in January 1961. In January 1984, its value was divided by ten to simplify its use.
